Tammy Lin

Tammy (Yu-Tung) Lin obtained Master of Music degree in Classical Piano from Manhattan School of Music, Bachelor of Arts in Music degree in Piano Performance from University of California Los Angeles, and Pre-College at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Born in Taiwan, she began formal musical training at age 5 in Guanran Catholic Music Elementary School. 
As a solo pianist, she had debuts at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center of Performing Arts in NYC and Kennedy Center of Performing Arts in Washington DC. In fall 2016,

she won the 1st Prize in American Fine Arts Festival International Competition
2nd Prize in Manhattan International Music Competition.

Some past awards include
The Grand Prize in Russian Music Competition in Pyrenees Music Society,

2nd Prize in Eastern Music Festival Piano Competition,

and the All-Star Concerto Competition in UCLA.


Tammy is very passionate working with children. She studied Child Development for two years during her undergraduate career at UCLA in addition to Piano Performance. During her time in NYC, she taught piano, music theory, and aural skill in East West Music School for age 3 to adult. As a teacher, she believes that to help students learn effectively is to play the phrases for students in addition to verbal explanation, to encourage students to think and understand the background ideas of the music.
